## Executive Summary
Ukrainian drone strikes targeting Wildberries warehouses in Russia have resulted in multiple deaths and significant logistical damage.

## Intelligence Brief
Ukrainian drones have carried out a series of strikes within Russia, targeting the warehouses of the online retailer Wildberries. According to reports from AP News and the Financial Times, these overnight operations resulted in fires at Wildberries facilities. The strikes were not isolated to the retailer; coverage from The Kyiv Independent and Українська правда indicates that Ukrainian forces also targeted an airbase in Engels and an oil refinery in Saratov. The human toll of these attacks varies across reports, with AP News stating that five people were killed, while Reuters and CNBC cited governors who reported two deaths, and The Moscow Times reported three fatalities.

Major international outlets, including the Financial Times, NBC News, and Reuters, are emphasizing the impact on the e-commerce infrastructure, with NBC News describing Wildberries as Russia's version of Amazon. Euronews.com and Українська правда have highlighted that more than one warehouse caught fire during these operations. The coverage indicates that the strikes were part of a broader coordinated effort by Ukrainian forces to hit diverse Russian targets, ranging from energy infrastructure to commercial logistics hubs, as reported by The Kyiv Independent. This trend is significant because Wildberries represents a critical pillar of the Russian retail economy, supporting a vast network of sellers who rely on its warehouses for their livelihoods.

The Independent is currently analyzing the strategic motives behind why Ukraine is specifically targeting this 'Amazon of Russia.' The attacks disrupt the flow of goods and the operational stability of one of the region's largest online marketplaces, creating an immediate crisis for the company's logistics and the third-party sellers who utilize its infrastructure. Going forward, the focus remains on the scale of the damage and the subsequent response from the company. Observers will be monitoring whether further strikes occur at other Wildberries locations or if the company can successfully implement its compensation plans for the affected sellers.
