## Executive Summary
WhatsApp adds @All mentions and poll timers, reshaping how billions chat in groups.

## Intelligence Brief
The most visible change is the introduction of an “@All” mention that lets any participant alert every member of a chat with a single tag. In parallel, the app’s poll function now supports a configurable end time, allowing creators to set a deadline for voting. The announcement appears across multiple tech outlets and the company’s own blog. Coverage of the launch is spread across six sources. MacRumors and Thurrott.com both headline the @All mention and the poll end‑time addition, framing them as upgrades to existing group‑chat tools.

Engadget emphasizes the ability to “bug” groups with an @All ping, while Lifehacker notes that WhatsApp has added five new group‑chat features, counting @All among them. The official WhatsApp blog on about.fb.com frames the changes as a broader group‑chat upgrade, and 9to5Mac reports the launch as three new features overall. The updates arrive at a time when group messaging remains a core communication channel for personal and professional users worldwide. Adding an @All tag mirrors similar capabilities on competing platforms, reducing the need for manual tagging of each participant. The poll end‑time feature addresses a common request for time‑bound decision‑making within groups, offering a clearer structure for collective inputs.

These enhancements therefore extend WhatsApp’s toolkit for coordinated group interactions. Future reporting should watch for rollout details such as regional availability, user adoption metrics, and any subsequent refinements announced by WhatsApp. The company’s blog may provide timelines for when the @All mention and poll timers become active for all users. Additional coverage from the same outlets is likely to examine how the new features affect group‑chat dynamics and whether further functionality will be introduced.
