## Executive Summary
SanDisk enters the Xbox Series X|S storage market with three new Optimus expansion cards offering capacities up to 2TB.

## Intelligence Brief
SanDisk has officially announced the launch of three new expansion cards designed specifically for the Xbox Series X|S hardware. According to reports from Pure Xbox and ixbt.games, these memory cards are intended to provide players with additional storage capacity for their gaming libraries. The new product line is branded as the Optimus line, which, as GamesRadar+ reports, offers storage options that reach up to 2TB. This release marks a significant expansion of available hardware options for users looking to increase the onboard storage of their consoles. Coverage from various outlets highlights the pricing and market position of these new cards. Videogameschronicle.com reports that SanDisk is the third company to release expansion cards for the Xbox Series X|S.

The pricing for these cards varies by capacity; news.instant-gaming.com notes that the storage expansion cards start at a price of $110. For those seeking the maximum amount of storage, Videogameschronicle.com specifies that the 2TB model is priced at $340. This detailed pricing structure indicates a tiered approach to the Optimus line's capacity options. The context of this release is rooted in the ongoing demand for high-speed storage compatible with the Xbox Series X|S architecture. By introducing the Optimus line, SanDisk is competing in a limited market where only two other companies have previously released compatible expansion cards. The availability of three different card options suggests an effort to cater to different budget levels and storage needs, ranging from the entry-level $110 card to the high-capacity 2TB version.

The integration of these cards allows players to manage larger game installations without relying solely on the internal drive. Future developments to monitor include the official retail availability of the Optimus line across different regions. While the pricing has been established, coverage does not yet specify the exact release dates or the specific capacities of the two lower-priced cards beneath the 2TB model. Observers will be looking for further technical specifications regarding the performance of the Optimus line compared to existing options. The market will likely react to the $340 price point for the highest capacity card as users weigh the cost against the provided storage increase.
