## Executive Summary
Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh has taken personal accountability for the team's recent slide, describing his own offensive performance as 'awful'.

## Intelligence Brief
Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh has publicly accepted blame for the team's current difficulties on the field. According to reporting from The Seattle Times, Raleigh used the word 'awful' to describe his own performance. This admission comes as the Mariners are currently enduring a losing streak, with ESPN noting that the team has lost five consecutive games. Raleigh's struggles have persisted as the team competes on the road, a point specifically highlighted by coverage from MLB.com, which noted that the player did not mince words regarding his continued offensive failures during their road trip. Multiple sports media outlets are focusing on the technical and historical aspects of Raleigh's slump.

Meanwhile, FanSided has reported that Raleigh is experiencing a season-long collapse that is now approaching a negative milestone in Major League Baseball history. The coverage across these five sources emphasizes a combination of poor individual statistics and a detrimental impact on the collective performance of the Seattle franchise. To understand the gravity of these statements, it is necessary to recognize the role Raleigh plays within the Mariners' roster. As a primary offensive contributor, his inability to handle fastballs as detailed by Sports Illustrated creates a void in the lineup. The context provided by ESPN suggests that his individual decline is coinciding with a broader team failure, as evidenced by the five-game losing streak.

The reporting suggests a pattern of decline that has lasted throughout the season rather than a brief period of poor play. Future developments to monitor include whether Raleigh can adjust his approach to fastballs to reverse the trend described by Sports Illustrated. Observers will also be watching to see if the Mariners can break their five-game losing streak mentioned by ESPN. Furthermore, the specific MLB history record mentioned by FanSided remains a point of interest as Raleigh's offensive struggle continues. Coverage does not yet specify what specific adjustments the coaching staff is implementing to assist the catcher in recovering his form.
