## Executive Summary
Tyrese Haliburton expressed shock over the Indiana Pacers' season opener against the New Orleans Pelicans following an Achilles tear.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent coverage from outlets including Fox News, Bleacher Report, Fox 59, IndyStar, NBA.com, ESPN, and the New York Post details the public reaction of Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton to the newly released 2026 NBA schedule. Specifically, Haliburton voiced complaints and expressed shock regarding his first game back following an Achilles tear, noting that the opening matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans is not scheduled for national television. The announcements surrounding the 2026-27 regular season schedule have thus drawn widespread attention across sports media platforms. Media reporting heavily emphasizes Haliburton's specific grievances with the league's scheduling decisions for his highly anticipated return to the court.

According to ESPN, Fox News, and the New York Post, the player is notably surprised by the absence of national television coverage for his comeback game against New Orleans. Concurrently, regional reports such as Fox 59 and IndyStar highlight broader aspects of the team's upcoming slate, noting that the Indiana Pacers have been assigned a total of eleven national games for the 2026-27 season as part of the official NBA schedule rollout featured prominently on NBA.com and Bleacher Report. This scheduling controversy emerges in the specific context of Haliburton's recovery process from a major injury, adding heightened significance to his return game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Indiana Pacers enter the 2026-27 regular season with a slate that includes multiple national television appearances overall, though the opener itself lacks that broadcast status.

Coverage does not yet specify whether league officials or the broadcasting networks will alter their television selections in response to the player's public complaints or the widespread media discussion generated by the schedule release. As the start of the 2026-27 NBA season approaches, observers and fans will be monitoring whether any adjustments are made to the broadcast lineup for the Indiana Pacers and the New Orleans Pelicans matchup. Further updates from the NBA, the franchises, and the reporting outlets will clarify how the team prepares for its eleven national games and whether the opening night contest remains outside the national television broadcast window. Current coverage does not yet detail any official response from the league office regarding the scheduling complaints voiced by Haliburton.
