## Executive Summary
Disney is reimagining Tomorrowland with new rides at Disneyland following a series of major announcements hosted by Neil Patrick Harris at D23 2026.

## Intelligence Brief
Disney is initiating a reimagining of Tomorrowland at Disneyland, a move that includes the addition of new rides to the theme park. These updates were revealed during the D23 2026 event, where a night of ride and park announcements took place. The event was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. According to reporting from the Disney Tourist Blog, this new focus on Tomorrowland has led to changes in the overall project timeline for Disneyland, resulting in the delay of the Avatar-themed project. Coverage from KTLA and The Verge emphasizes that the updates to Tomorrowland are a reimagining of the area.

The Verge specifically describes this update as being long-overdue. MiceChat provided breaking coverage of the D23 2026 event, while Yahoo focused on the role of Neil Patrick Harris as the host for the evening of announcements. The collective coverage underscores a shift in priorities for the park's development schedule to accommodate the Tomorrowland refresh. The context for these changes centers on the D23 2026 convention, which serves as the primary venue for Disney to disclose future park expansions and modifications. The decision to prioritize the Tomorrowland reimagining over other developments, such as the Avatar project, suggests a strategic adjustment in the timeline for Disneyland's infrastructure and attraction updates.

This shift highlights the company's current focus on updating established lands over some of its newer planned expansions. Future developments to watch involve the specific nature of the new rides coming to Disneyland and the revised timeline for the delayed Avatar project. While the Disney Tourist Blog has confirmed the delay, coverage does not yet specify the new expected completion date for the Avatar project or the exact opening dates for the new Tomorrowland attractions. Observers will likely look for further details on the specific design changes and the scale of the reimagining project as Disney moves forward.
