## Executive Summary
Russian missile strikes have targeted a major steel plant in Kryvyi Rih, while Ukrainian forces have launched attacks toward the Moscow region.

## Intelligence Brief
Russian forces carried out missile strikes on the ArcelorMittal steel plant located in Kryvyi Rih during an overnight operation. Reports indicate that the attack resulted in casualties, with The Times of India specifically noting that two people were killed. The scale of the damage is significant, as the Kyiv Post reports that the strikes destroyed the ArcelorMittal facility in Kryvyi Rih as well as a book market in Kyiv. Local emergency efforts continued following the strike, with ukranews.com reporting that the death toll in Kryvyi Rih increased after a body was unblocked from beneath the rubble of the destroyed structures. Multiple international and local outlets are tracking the escalation of these strikes.

The Times of India and NDTV both highlight the corporate ownership of the targeted facility, identifying it as the plant of Lakshmi Mittal. Ukrinform describes the event as an enemy missile attack that caused both deaths and injuries among the people present at the site. The coverage emphasizes the geographic spread of the targets, linking the destruction of the industrial plant in Kryvyi Rih with the strike on the book market within the capital city of Kyiv. Contextual details provided in the coverage link the location of the strike to political significance. NDTV reports that the Lakshmi Mittal factory is located in the hometown of Volodymyr Zelensky.

This adds a layer of personal and political relevance to the targeting of the industrial infrastructure in Kryvyi Rih. The attack on the ArcelorMittal plant represents a direct hit on a major industrial asset, while the simultaneous strike on a book market in Kyiv suggests a diversification of targets across different urban sectors during the overnight offensive. Future developments will likely center on the final casualty counts and the extent of the structural damage to the ArcelorMittal facility. Coverage from ukranews.com suggests that search and recovery operations were still active as bodies were being recovered from the rubble.
