## Executive Summary
Android is introducing a native App Lock feature, with Google Pixel devices expected to lead the rollout followed potentially by Samsung Galaxy phones.

## Intelligence Brief
A native App Lock feature is arriving on the Android operating system, providing users with a way to secure individual applications. According to reporting from PCMag, Google Pixel devices are slated to receive this functionality first. Following the Pixel rollout, the coverage indicates that Samsung devices may be the next to implement the feature. This development brings a core security capability directly into the Android ecosystem, allowing for more granular control over which apps require authentication to open. Multiple technology outlets are tracking these developments.

PCMag has explicitly detailed the rollout sequence, placing the Pixel at the front of the line and Samsung as a likely subsequent recipient. Meanwhile, Mashable reports that Samsung Galaxy phones could soon integrate this specific capability, noting that it is a popular feature already present in Apple's ecosystem. Additionally, sammyfans.com has reported on a fresh leak regarding One UI 9.5, which highlights other upcoming changes such as new Search and Finder tools and App Mirroring functionality. The introduction of App Lock is significant because it mirrors a popular feature found on Apple devices, closing a functional gap between the two primary mobile operating systems. For Samsung users, the context is further expanded by the One UI 9.5 leaks mentioned by sammyfans.com, suggesting that App Lock may be part of a broader suite of interface and utility updates.

This shift toward native locking mechanisms reduces the reliance on third-party security apps to protect sensitive data within specific applications on Android hardware. Future developments to watch include the official release date for the Pixel update and the confirmation of App Lock's inclusion in Samsung's One UI 9.5. While PCMag and Mashable suggest Samsung is next in line, the actual timeline for Galaxy phones remains based on current reports and leaks. Observers will be looking for confirmation on whether the One UI 9.5 leak from sammyfans.com will coincide with the broader Android App Lock rollout or if the features will arrive in separate software updates.
