## Executive Summary
The United States and Iran remain locked in a stalemate as a critical 60-day negotiation period and ceasefire expire without a peace deal.

## Intelligence Brief
The United States and Iran have entered a diplomatic stalemate following the expiration of a 60-day negotiation period intended to establish a peace deal. According to reports from CNN and AP News, this deadline has passed without a resolution to the ongoing conflict. Fox News reports that a ceasefire between the two nations was set to expire on Monday, occurring alongside a lack of progress in peace talks. This timeline concludes a specific window of diplomatic effort designed to move the two countries toward a formal agreement to end the war. Major news outlets are focusing on the collapse of the diplomatic framework.

Al Jazeera is examining the expiration of the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding, analyzing the specific reasons why the agreement fell apart. ABC News reports that the urgency of the 60-day deadline has been dismissed by Iranian officials, citing a diplomat who described the deadline as 'irrelevant.' The coverage across these platforms emphasizes a stark divide between the formal expiration of the timeline and the perceived importance of that timeline to the participants. This development is critical because it marks the end of a structured attempt to avoid further escalation of the US-Iran war. The existence of the Memorandum of Understanding provided a temporary legal and diplomatic baseline for negotiations, but the lack of a resulting peace deal means the conflict continues. The situation is being framed as a failure of the 60-day window to produce tangible results, leaving the strategic status of the ceasefire in question as it reaches its end date.

Future developments will likely center on whether President Trump can resolve the war, a question posed in a poll by KATU. Observers are monitoring the immediate aftermath of the Monday ceasefire expiration to see if hostilities resume or if alternative diplomatic channels emerge. Because the 60-day period has ended without a deal, the primary focus remains on the lack of an end to the conflict in sight, as reported by CNN.
