## Executive Summary
International tensions rise as the U.S. and Turkey condemn Israeli airstrikes on a military air base in northwest Syria, citing risks of unnecessary escalation.

## Intelligence Brief
Israeli airstrikes have targeted a military air base located in northwest Syria. According to coverage from France 24, the military airport is situated specifically in the Idlib province. While the strikes have been confirmed across multiple reports, AP News notes that no casualties have been reported following the operation. The strike has triggered immediate diplomatic reactions from several nations and international representatives involved in the region's security dynamics. Multiple news outlets are highlighting the diplomatic friction resulting from this event.

DW.com reports that both Syria and the United States have condemned the strikes. Politico and CBS News focus on the reaction of Trump’s Syria envoy, who is currently based in Turkey; the envoy has specifically chastised Israel, labeling the military action as an unnecessary escalation. This sentiment is mirrored in reports from Reuters and Haaretz, which emphasize the U.S. envoy’s concern over the potential for further instability in the region. The context of the operation involves a pre-strike intelligence exchange between the two allies. The Times of Israel reports that an official stated Israel briefed the United States on highly sensitive intelligence before the strike was carried out.

Despite this prior briefing, the strikes have drawn criticism from other regional powers. The Times of Israel further notes that Turkey has blasted Israel over the reported strikes on the Syrian air base, indicating a broader regional disapproval of the military action. Observers are now monitoring the diplomatic fallout between Israel, the U.S., and regional actors. The primary focus remains on the accusations of unnecessary escalation leveled by the U.S. envoy and the official condemnations from the Syrian government. Future developments will likely hinge on whether further military actions are taken in Idlib province or if the diplomatic criticism from the U.S. and Turkey leads to a shift in operational strategy in northwest Syria.
