According to extensive coverage from sports outlets including Giants.com, Big Blue View, Yahoo Sports, and CBS Sports, major roster changes are underway for the New York franchise during Preseason Week 2. The organization has officially decided to release veteran wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. Concurrently, the team has agreed to terms to sign former Pittsburgh running back Najee Harris to a one-year deal. The reporting heavily emphasizes the dual nature of these roster moves, framing them as an interconnected personnel swap involving former Pittsburgh players. Yahoo Sports and Giants.com highlight both the acquisition of the running back and the departure of the wide receiver in their coverage.

CBS Sports and Big Blue View dive deeper into the implications of these moves, questioning what the arrival of the new running back means for the dynamic of New York's backfield during the ongoing preseason period. Meanwhile, the incoming running back is also recognized as a former Steeler getting another shot with a new team.

Coverage does not yet specify the long-term strategic goals behind these transactions beyond their immediate placement within the preseason roster trackers and analysis pieces published by the aforementioned sports news organizations. Observers and fans following the team will need to monitor subsequent updates from Giants.com and other sports analysts to see how the newly reconfigured backfield performs.
