## Executive Summary
Top golfers, hidden contenders and a $100 million prize pool converge as the 2026 BMW Championship kicks off in St. Louis.

## Intelligence Brief
The 2026 BMW Championship has convened a 50‑man field at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, marking the latest stop in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Coverage notes that fans gathered for practice rounds, with photographs of crowds posted by STLtoday.com. The tournament follows a standard playoff format, and the field includes leading names such as Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. Media outlets have produced a dense stream of odds, picks and model‑based forecasts.

CBS Sports published multiple pieces, including a model that claims to have correctly predicted 17 majors and now offers surprising rankings. Yahoo Sports highlighted Sam Burns as a potential winner, while The New York Times pointed to Ludvig Aberg’s FedEx Cup form. Golf Channel, Forbes, USA Today, GOLF.com, Fox News, SportsLine, Golf Digest and the PGA Tour each released their own betting guides, expert picks, power rankings or sleeper‑pick lists. Local coverage added color, with STLtoday.com quoting Ozzie Smith’s excitement and FOX 2 reporting major road closures near the venue. The stakes are amplified by the FedEx Cup bonus pool, which Golf Digest reports totals nearly $100 million and is distributed according to performance at the BMW Championship.

The model‑driven predictions cited by CBS and SportsLine have become a focal point for bettors, while the notion of “sleeper picks” – golfers who may exceed their odds – is emphasized by the PGA Tour’s dedicated sleeper‑pick article. In addition to the top‑ranked Scheffler and McIlroy, the field features rising talent such as Aberg and Burns, creating a mix of established stars and under‑the‑radar contenders. Viewers should monitor the evolving odds published by CBS Sports and the PGA Tour as the first round concludes, since the model’s leaderboard projections are likely to be adjusted. Golf Channel’s “how to watch” guide outlines broadcast options, while road‑closure updates from FOX 2 may affect travel to Bellerive. The sleeper‑pick list from the PGA Tour and the Sam Burns case presented by Yahoo Sports provide specific names to track, and further expert commentary is expected from Forbes and Golf Digest as the tournament progresses.
