## Executive Summary
The Israeli military launches rare criminal investigations into troop conduct during Gaza killings, drawing international attention.

## Intelligence Brief
Coverage from outlets including NPR, ABC News, The Guardian, The Boston Globe, SMH.com.au, and The Wall Street Journal reports that the Israeli army has ordered a criminal investigation into the killing of a five-year-old Palestinian girl named Hind Rajab and paramedics in Gaza, alongside related military probes regarding troop conduct. According to the reporting across these publications, the military actions involve rare criminal probes into attacks on Gaza civilians. Simultaneously, coverage highlights divergent responses to separate military findings, noting that the Israeli ambassador rejected political attacks on a report clearing soldiers in the killing of aid worker Zomi Frankcom, an outcome the slain aid worker's family criticized while stating she deserved more.

The background established by the available headlines centers on scrutiny surrounding military accountability and troop conduct in Gaza during conflict-related strikes. Outlets detail that while rare criminal probes have been launched into specific incidents involving the five-year-old child and paramedics, other cases like the death of the Australian aid worker have not resulted in criminal investigations, sparking public statements from affected families and diplomatic officials. Looking forward based on the provided material, ongoing coverage indicates a focus on the trajectory of these rare military probes and the international reactions to decisions regarding accountability for civilian and aid worker deaths.

The headlines do not yet specify the timeline or procedural next steps for the newly initiated criminal investigations.
