According to reports from organizations including Yahoo Sports, WTOP, The New York Times, The Guardian, Bleacher Report, CBS Sports, ESPN, and CBS News, the No. 1 overall draft pick will miss the rest of the 2026 WNBA season. The reports specify that Fudd has been dealing with a sore knee issue that ultimately requires a surgical procedure, as confirmed directly by the team. Outlets such as Yahoo Sports and ESPN emphasize the significant impact of this roster loss for the Dallas franchise during their ongoing campaign. Media organizations have dedicated substantial reporting to the announcement, detailing the timeline and the official confirmation from the team regarding the injury status of their marquee rookie.

Bleacher Report, CBS News, and The Guardian outline that the procedure addresses the lingering knee problem that has sidelined the young star. Meanwhile, CBS Sports connects the injury news to a broader examination of the Dallas squad's current performance, noting that the team is navigating a post-All-Star slump alongside teammate Paige Bueckers. As the situation develops, observers and fans are closely monitoring subsequent updates from the medical staff regarding the success of the surgery and the anticipated rehabilitation timeline. Coverage does not yet specify the exact date for the procedure or the long-term prognosis beyond the current season.
