## Executive Summary
Ukraine carries out drone strikes targeting major oil refineries and a military airfield deep inside Russian territory.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent reporting outlines a series of drone attacks conducted by Ukraine targeting critical energy and military infrastructure deep inside Russian territory. According to coverage from The Kyiv Independent, Bloomberg.com, Українська правда, and Crude Oil Prices Today | OilPrice.com, the strikes hit an oil refinery located in Russia's Perm region in the Urals, a Lukoil refinery, and a military airfield. Ukrainian President Zelensky confirmed the drone attack on the oil refinery in Perm, while separate reports from Українська правда noted that the operations targeted both petroleum processing facilities and military airfield sites. The geographical scope of these actions extends far into Russian regions, drawing significant attention to the ongoing cross-border aerial campaign. The reporting heavily emphasizes the strategic nature of these targets, focusing specifically on deep-strike capabilities against Russian energy assets and military infrastructure. Bloomberg.com and Crude Oil Prices Today | OilPrice.com frame the operation around the targeting of major oil installations, identifying facilities associated with Lukoil.

The Kyiv Independent highlights the official confirmation delivered by the Ukrainian leadership regarding the Perm strike. Meanwhile, Українська правда provides repeated coverage detailing the simultaneous hits on both the oil refining sector and military airfields in the region. Outlets emphasize the depth of the penetration into Russian territory, noting that the Urals region and Perm serve as key hubs for the targeted energy operations. This unfolding situation builds upon a persistent pattern of long-range drone operations directed by Ukraine against Russian industrial and military logistics hubs. Energy facilities, particularly refineries situated deep within Russian borders, have repeatedly emerged as primary objectives in attempts to disrupt fuel supply chains and military readiness. The inclusion of military airfields alongside petroleum infrastructure demonstrates a dual-pronged approach in these reported operations.

Coverage does not yet specify the full extent of the physical damage inflicted upon the targeted Perm refinery, the Lukoil facilities, or the military airfield, leaving the immediate operational impact open to future assessment by monitors and officials. Observers tracking the situation will need to follow subsequent updates regarding official damage assessments from both Ukrainian and Russian authorities. Coverage does not yet specify whether additional retaliatory measures or further drone waves are planned, nor does it detail the specific air defense responses encountered by the incoming drones. Future reports from the outlets currently tracking these events will likely determine the permanence of the disruptions at the Perm and Lukoil facilities and clarify the operational status of the struck military airfield. Readers should monitor ongoing dispatches from the participating publications for verified developments on the ground.
