## Executive Summary
A wave of fake Grand Theft Auto VI leaks is spreading malware while Take-Two pursues legal action via a court subpoena to Microsoft.

## Intelligence Brief
A series of fraudulent 'Grand Theft Auto VI' build leaks has surfaced across the internet, leading to significant security risks for users. According to reporting from Tom's Hardware, a fake GTA VI ISO file has been circulating, which internet sleuths identify as padded malware. Technical testers have specifically claimed that the massive 113GB download consists of 99.99% empty zeroes, hiding a small 50KB virus embedded within the code. TechPowerUp further confirms that this fake leaked build hides malware within its vast amount of empty code, warning users against attempting to download or execute the files.

Coverage from multiple technology outlets emphasizes the deceptive nature of these files and the reaction from industry figures. While Tom's Hardware and TechPowerUp focus on the technical danger of the malware, Mashable reports that a former Rockstar director has dismissed the current wave of leaks, describing the situation as a 'nothing burger.' This suggests a discrepancy between the viral nature of the online claims and the actual substance of the leaked material, as professional insiders downplay the significance of the supposed revelations regarding game settings or features. Parallel to the spread of malware, there is an ongoing legal effort by the game's publisher. Windows Central reports that Microsoft has been served a court subpoena by Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, in relation to 'Grand Theft Auto 6.' This legal maneuver indicates that Take-Two is using the court system to obtain information or data from Microsoft, likely tied to the security breaches or the dissemination of confidential company information that has plagued the title's development cycle.

Future developments will likely center on the results of the Take-Two subpoena and the continued analysis of the fraudulent ISO files. While the former Rockstar director cited by Mashable views the leaks as insignificant, the reports from Windows Central show that the legal stakes remain high for the organizations involved. Users are advised to remain cautious of any 113GB downloads claiming to be early builds of the game, as the technical consensus from Tom's Hardware and TechPowerUp confirms these are vehicles for viral infections.
