Samsung is preparing a massive free feature upgrade via One UI 9 and 9.5 for millions of Galaxy smartphones, incorporating AI design tools and new accessibility options.

## Intelligence Brief
Samsung is planning a major free feature upgrade targeting millions of Galaxy phones through the rollout of One UI 9 and subsequent versions. According to reporting from Forbes, this update will bring significant enhancements to a vast user base. Specifically, Sammy Fans reports that One UI 9.0, which is based on Android 17, is currently undergoing testing across 68 different Samsung devices. This extensive testing phase indicates a wide deployment strategy intended to cover multiple generations of hardware. Additionally, Samsung Magazine is tracking the timeline for the One UI 9 Beta, focusing specifically on the Galaxy S26, S25, and S24 series to determine when these next versions will be officially released to the public. Coverage from several specialized tech outlets emphasizes specific functional improvements and leaks.

GSMArena.com reports that a leak regarding One UI 9.5 suggests the inclusion of AI-driven capabilities that would allow users to design their own custom widgets. Complementing this, Gadget Hacks is reporting on a connectivity hub integrated into One UI 9.5, detailing what current reports show about the interface. Further focus on user experience is evident in coverage from Android Police, which highlights a hidden accessibility feature within One UI 9 designed to provide relief for users experiencing eye strain, describing it as a gem for accessibility. Contextually, this update represents a strategic move to maintain competitiveness and extend the lifecycle of older devices. The inclusion of Android 17 as the foundation for One UI 9.0 demonstrates the alignment with the broader Android ecosystem. The mention of the Galaxy S27 Ultra by PhoneArena suggests that Samsung is already looking toward future hardware, noting that this upcoming device may debut with a special feature typically associated with iOS.

This intersection of AI-driven customization and cross-platform feature parity suggests a shift in how Samsung intends to differentiate its high-end Galaxy devices from competitors. Looking ahead, the primary points of interest involve the official release dates for the One UI 9 Beta for the S24, S25, and S26 models. Observers will be watching for the official confirmation of the AI widget designer and the connectivity hub mentioned in the One UI 9.5 leaks. Furthermore, the industry will monitor whether the specialized iOS-like feature mentioned by PhoneArena actually makes its debut on the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Because testing is already active on 68 devices, the sequence of the rollout across different hardware tiers will be the next critical development in this software cycle.
