## Executive Summary
The Arizona Cardinals have shaken up their roster by waiving running back Trey Benson and activating defensive standout Josh Sweat from the PUP list.

## Intelligence Brief
According to an official announcement from the Arizona Cardinals, the organization has waived running back Trey Benson and simultaneously activated Josh Sweat from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. This dual move alters the team's depth at both the running back position and on the defensive line as the team manages its active player list. The timing of these transactions indicates a shift in the team's immediate personnel needs for the upcoming game schedule. Multiple outlets have reported on these transactions with varying focuses. The Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Sports both explicitly detailed the pairing of Benson's release with the activation of Josh Sweat.

NBC Sports provided additional medical context, noting that the decision to waive Trey Benson is related to a knee injury. Meanwhile, coverage from azcentral.com and The Arizona Republic has highlighted a different angle of the roster shift, describing the ongoing situation involving Josh Sweat as remaining perplexing despite his activation from the PUP list. To understand the significance of these moves, it is necessary to note the role of the PUP list, which allows players with significant injuries to remain with the team without counting against the active roster limit for a period of time. Josh Sweat's return from this status provides a boost to the Cardinals' defensive front. Conversely, the waiving of Trey Benson represents a loss of depth in the backfield.

The mention of a knee injury by NBC Sports suggests that Benson's health played a primary role in the decision to remove him from the roster. Looking ahead, the focus will remain on how Josh Sweat integrates back into the active lineup. While he has been officially activated, the commentary from The Arizona Republic suggests that there are still unresolved or perplexing elements regarding his status that may require further clarification. Observers will also be monitoring whether any other roster moves follow the waiving of Trey Benson to fill the void left in the running back rotation, though no further additions have been announced in the current coverage.
