## Executive Summary
The Boston Red Sox are preparing for roster shifts as Roman Anthony and Trevor Story approach returns amid upcoming September expansions.

## Intelligence Brief
The Boston Red Sox are anticipating several key additions to their active roster as the season progresses. According to coverage from MassLive, the team is expecting reinforcements including Roman Anthony and Trevor Story. Roman Anthony is currently in the process of returning from injury and, as reported by Yahoo Sports, is set to continue his rehabilitation assignments with the Triple-A Worcester team during the current week. This movement comes as the team looks to finalize its composition for the final stretch of the season, specifically focusing on how these returning players will integrate into the existing lineup and defensive structure. Reporting from Yahoo Sports and Over the Monster highlights the specific complexities surrounding the return of shortstop Trevor Story.

While his return is described as imminent, Yahoo Sports notes that the team may still need to wait on both Story and Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Over the Monster emphasizes the isolation of Story's current status, describing his injury absence as taking up the loneliest roster spot. These reports suggest that while the players are nearing availability, the timing of their full reintegration into the active game-day squad remains a point of focus for the organization's management. Context for these changes is tied to the upcoming calendar date of September 1, which marks the point when Major League rosters expand. Coverage from BoSox Injection indicates that this expansion creates a strategic window for the Red Sox to evaluate which players to retain.

The outlet specifically suggests there are two players the team should keep when the rosters expand on that date. Moving forward, the team's focus will remain on the rehabilitation progress of Roman Anthony at the Triple-A level in Worcester. Observers will be watching for official activation dates for Trevor Story and Isiah Kiner-Falefa to see if the wait mentioned by Yahoo Sports persists. Additionally, the final roster decisions made on September 1 will determine which specific players BoSox Injection recommends for retention. The sequence of these returns and the subsequent roster expansions will define the Red Sox's available talent pool for the remainder of the campaign.
