## Executive Summary
Director Jacob Chase is returning to Blumhouse Atomic Monster to helm the upcoming horror film 'Sleepover' for Universal.

## Intelligence Brief
Director Jacob Chase is set to helm a new horror project titled 'Sleepover,' produced by Blumhouse Atomic Monster and distributed by Universal. This collaboration marks a reunion between the filmmaker and the production house. According to reports from Variety and Deadline, Chase previously directed 'Insidious: Out of the Further,' which is also identified in coverage as 'Insidious 6.' The new project, 'Sleepover,' is characterized by Dread Central as a 'nightmarish' addition to the horror genre, though specific plot details remain undisclosed in the current reporting. Multiple industry outlets have tracked the announcement, though they provide slightly different timelines for the film's arrival. Variety, Deadline, and TheWrap focus on the production partnership involving Universal and Blumhouse Atomic Monster.

While Deadline specifies a 'Fall 2027' release and TheWrap provides a more precise date of October 2027, The Hollywood Reporter indicates that Universal has set a 2028 release date. This discrepancy across the reporting from the major trades highlights a lack of total consensus on the exact window for the film's theatrical debut. To understand the current significance of this project, readers must note Chase's established relationship with these entities. His work on 'Insidious 6' (titled 'Insidious: Out of the Further') has positioned him as a key creative within the Blumhouse ecosystem. The partnership between Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Universal continues to be a primary engine for high-profile horror releases, and the announcement of 'Sleepover' suggests a continued strategic reliance on Chase to lead new intellectual properties for the studio.

Future developments to monitor include a finalized release date, as coverage currently oscillates between late 2027 and 2028. Additionally, industry observers will likely look for casting announcements and further plot descriptions to determine the nature of the 'nightmarish' elements mentioned by Dread Central. For now, the focus remains on the creative reteaming of Jacob Chase and Blumhouse Atomic Monster under the distribution banner of Universal.
