## Executive Summary
Russia has targeted a cargo ship in the Black Sea and infrastructure in Odesa following Ukrainian calls for talks to end attacks.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent military actions have intensified in the Black Sea and the Odesa region. According to coverage from The Independent, Moscow has carried out a strike on a cargo ship located in the Black Sea. This escalation follows calls from President Zelensky for talks intended to stop these types of attacks. Simultaneously, Ukrinform reports that Russian forces launched a combined attack targeting energy infrastructure and food warehouses within the Odesa region. The scale of the destruction in Odesa is further detailed by Ukrainska Pravda, which reports that two DIY superstores have been set ablaze as a result of the Russian offensive. Different outlets emphasize various targets of the Russian military campaign.

CGTN reports that Russian media and the Ministry of Defense claim a strike on the PS-330 Adjalik substation. This specific piece of infrastructure is responsible for providing power to the Yuzhny port. Additionally, the Ministry of Defense stated that five fuel tanks utilized by the Ukrainian Armed Forces were targeted. The Atlas News Agency provides further claims from the Russian side, stating that Russian forces struck Ukrainian military infrastructure and successfully downed 1,120 drones during their operations. This current surge in activity highlights the strategic importance of the Odesa region and Black Sea shipping lanes. The targeting of the PS-330 Adjalik substation and fuel tanks suggests a concentrated effort to disrupt both energy supplies and logistics for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The impact on civilian and commercial sectors is evidenced by the attacks on food warehouses and the fire at the DIY superstores. These events occur against a backdrop of diplomatic outreach from President Zelensky, who has explicitly called for discussions to halt the ongoing attacks on shipping and infrastructure. Future developments will likely center on the operational status of the Yuzhny port and the recovery of energy infrastructure in the Odesa region. Observers will be watching for any official response or movement toward the talks requested by Zelensky to stop attacks in the Black Sea. Coverage from Atlas News Agency and the Russian Ministry of Defense suggests a continued focus on drone interception and strikes against military assets. The extent of the damage to the food warehouses and the cargo ship remains a primary point of interest as the situation evolves.
