## Executive Summary
Disney rolls out its most lavish Korean drama yet, debuting at Busan before a November streaming launch on Disney+ and Hulu.

## Intelligence Brief
Disney+ has announced that the Korean fantasy drama “The Remarried Empress” will launch on its platform in November, with a parallel release on Hulu. The series, described as lavish, features a cast that includes Shin Mina, Ju Jihoon, Lee Jongsuk and Lee Seyoung. In addition to the streaming debut, the drama is slated to premiere at the Busan International Film Festival, giving it a theatrical showcase before the online launch. Coverage of the rollout appears across a range of entertainment outlets. Deadline and Yahoo both reported Disney+’s November premiere date, while Variety added details about the starring quartet and confirmed the Hulu bow.

ScreenRant highlighted the production’s high budget and noted that the series adapts a popular eight‑year‑old comics franchise. WhatsonDisneyPlus.com and IMDb listed the title in their upcoming releases calendars. The announcement reflects Disney’s broader push into premium Korean content, leveraging a well‑known comics property to attract both domestic and international viewers. By positioning the drama at Busan, the company taps a festival known for spotlighting emerging and high‑profile Asian productions, especially within the Vision sections that this year feature 23 independent projects. The inclusion of multiple Disney+ titles alongside Netflix offerings underscores the competitive streaming landscape in Asia and the strategic importance of festival premieres as a marketing lever.

Readers should monitor the Busan International Film Festival schedule for the exact screening dates of “The Remarried Empress,” as the festival’s programming will determine the first public exposure of the series. Following the festival, the November streaming launch on Disney+ and Hulu will be the next milestone, and further Disney communications may clarify regional rollout plans or ancillary merchandise tied to the comics franchise. Audience and critical response at Busan will likely shape promotional tactics ahead of the global streaming release.
