## Executive Summary
GoPro's first interchangeable‑lens cinema camera hits the market, promising 8K video in a 197‑gram body.

## Intelligence Brief
The camera body weighs 197 grams and records 8K video, using Micro Four Thirds (MFT) lenses with manual focus only. GoPro set the retail price at $699.99. At the same time the company announced that the Grip Edition of the camera received its first discount on Amazon. GoPro’s own press release introduced the product and app. DroneXL highlighted the 197‑gram weight and $699.99 price point.

Imaging Resource reported the Amazon discount for the Grip Edition. CNET’s tester called the camera brilliant, Engadget called it a GoPro like no other, and Digital Camera World’s professional photographer noted it is unlike any camera they have used before. The MISSION 1 PRO ILS represents a departure from GoPro’s traditional action‑camera lineup, moving into a segment usually dominated by larger cinema cameras with built‑in lenses. By adopting a mirrorless‑style interchangeable‑lens design, GoPro aims to attract creators who need high‑resolution 8K footage in a compact form factor. The manual‑focus‑only operation aligns with standard cinema‑camera workflows, while the MFT mount expands the range of compatible lenses.

The simultaneous launch of the MISSION Monitor App suggests an ecosystem for remote control, live monitoring and possibly on‑set adjustments, features common in professional video rigs. Future reporting will likely track how the Amazon discount influences early sales of the Grip Edition and whether additional accessories are announced. Reviewers are expected to publish further assessments of image quality, ergonomics, battery life and the integration of the Monitor App as the camera reaches wider audiences. Observers will also watch for any updates to pricing, regional availability and firmware upgrades that could add features beyond the initial manual‑focus configuration.
