## Executive Summary
The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced that Shohei Ohtani will not pitch Sunday as knee soreness and body fatigue persist, leaving his return date unclear.

## Intelligence Brief
The Los Angeles Dodgers have provided a status update regarding Shohei Ohtani during the team's series against the Tigers. According to reports from Yahoo Sports and MLB Trade Rumors, Ohtani will not return to the mound this Sunday. The decision comes as the organization manages the player's health and recovery process. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts specifically noted that Ohtani's left knee and his overall body are not currently at 100 percent, which has prevented his scheduled return to pitching duties for the upcoming game. Coverage from Yahoo Sports emphasizes the cautious approach taken by the team's leadership.

Manager Dave Roberts has cleared his stance on the matter, stating that he "wouldn't run him" given the current physical state of the athlete. CBS Sports characterizes the situation as a lingering issue with knee soreness, which has created uncertainty regarding when Ohtani will be able to rejoin the Dodgers' pitching rotation. The New York Post has described the update as troubling, highlighting the ambiguity surrounding the timeline for his return to the mound. This development is significant because it represents a setback in Ohtani's attempt to resume his dual-threat capabilities as both a hitter and a pitcher. The focus on his left knee and overall bodily fatigue suggests a comprehensive recovery process is still required before he can handle the rigors of pitching.

The timing of this announcement during the Tigers series underscores the immediate impact on the Dodgers' rotation management and the ongoing struggle to get their star player back to full health during a critical phase of the season. Moving forward, the Dodgers are currently determining the next steps for Ohtani's rehabilitation and return. According to MLB Trade Rumors, the team is in the process of deciding how to proceed with his recovery. Future updates will likely focus on whether the knee soreness subsides and when the organization feels Ohtani's body has returned to 100 percent. For now, the specific date for his return to the pitching rotation remains undetermined as the team prioritizes his long-term physical health over an immediate return.
