## Executive Summary
Middle Tennessee State University football is honoring the late country music icon Dolly Parton with special jersey patches for their upcoming home opener.

## Intelligence Brief
The Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) football team has announced that it will honor the legacy of country music legend Dolly Parton. To commemorate her life and contributions, the Blue Raiders football team will wear special jersey patches during their home opener. According to reports from WZTV and Local 3 News, these patches serve as a formal tribute to the artist following her death. The team intends to debut this visual honor during their first home game of the season, marking a significant emotional start to their athletic campaign. Coverage of this tribute has been widespread across local and national outlets. Reports from WKRN News 2 and the Middle Tennessee State University Athletics department confirm the decision to integrate the patches into the team's uniforms.

WGNS Radio highlights that the addition of the Dolly Parton patch brings a specific Tennessee flair to the festivities taking place at Floyd Stadium. Additionally, Bleacher Report has released a photo revealing the specific design of the jersey patch, bringing visual confirmation of how the university is choosing to recognize the legend's passing. This tribute occurs within a broader context of Parton's deep ties to the state of Tennessee and its sporting culture. USA Today has highlighted this connection by remembering Parton's rendition of the song 'Rocky Top,' which she performed at a Tennessee football game in 2023. This history of engagement with state athletics underscores why a university in Middle Tennessee would choose to honor her in this specific manner. The intersection of country music heritage and collegiate sports reflects the cultural significance Parton held within the region and across the United States.

Looking forward, the primary focus remains on the home opener at Floyd Stadium where the Blue Raiders will officially wear the patches. The coverage indicates that the event will serve as a public moment of remembrance for the country music icon. While the jerseys have been revealed via photography, the actual appearance of the team on the field will be the final step in this commemorative effort. Observers will be watching the season opener to see how the university and the fans mark this occasion in the wake of the artist's death.
