## Executive Summary
Liz Meriwether shuts down hopes for a 'New Girl' reunion, confirming there are no scripts while pivoting to a Britney Spears biopic.

## Intelligence Brief
Creator Liz Meriwether has officially addressed the possibility of a 'New Girl' reunion, stating clearly that such a project is not happening. According to reports from Variety and Just Jared, Meriwether shut down the news by explicitly noting that there are no scripts in existence for a reunion. This update comes as a disappointment to the series' fanbase, with The Independent describing the news as a devastating blow for fans who had been hoping for a return of the cast and characters. The creator's comments clarify that what may have been perceived as a possibility was, in fact, a joke. The coverage of these statements has been widespread across multiple entertainment outlets.

Variety, Just Jared, and The News International have all focused on Meriwether getting candid about the lack of reunion progress. Meanwhile, Yahoo highlighted her humorous take on the situation, where she remarked that perhaps the real reunion was the weird little feuds that occurred along the way. The Hollywood Reporter provided broader context in a feature catching up with the writer, which touched upon her interest in serial killers and her current professional trajectory beyond the sitcom. Concurrent with the reunion news, coverage emphasizes Meriwether's return to feature film writing after a fifteen-year break. As reported by Kiss 95.1 Charlotte, Billboard, and Yahoo News Canada, she is currently working on a biopic about Britney Spears titled 'The Woman in Me.' Meriwether has shared that she has been listening to a lot of Britney Spears' music to assist her in the writing process for the script.

This shift in focus marks a significant transition for the creator as she moves from the world of television comedy into the realm of musical biopics. Future developments to monitor include the production progress of 'The Woman in Me,' as this project represents Meriwether's first feature film script in over a decade. While the door on 'New Girl' appears closed due to the lack of written material, the industry is now watching her transition back into cinema. Coverage does not specify a release date for the biopic, but the focus remains on her current research and writing phase as she incorporates the singer's music into her creative workflow.
