## Executive Summary
The Los Angeles Dodgers face critical rotation decisions as Shohei Ohtani remains sidelined from pitching ahead of the postseason.

## Intelligence Brief
According to coverage from True Blue LA, Ohtani has still not been cleared to make a pitching start. This development comes as the Dodgers are currently poised for the postseason, but the specific nature of Ohtani's injury is now raising significant questions regarding the team's strategy and personnel management. The organization is currently in the process of determining their next steps regarding his status on the mound. Multiple outlets are closely tracking the impact of this injury on the team's immediate planning. Yahoo Sports reports that the situation is raising questions specifically about the Dodgers' decision for a Game 4 starter.

Meanwhile, the New York Post has suggested that it may be time for the Dodgers to shut Ohtani down as a pitcher entirely. The goal of such a move, according to the New York Post, would be to boost the team's hopes for the month of October. This indicates a tension between utilizing Ohtani in the short term and preserving his health for the playoffs. Contextual analysis of the situation is being provided through commentary pieces. Both the Los Angeles Times and Yahoo Sports have featured writing from Plaschke, titled "No two ways about it," which addresses the current state of the team and the implications of Ohtani's unavailability.

The necessity of this coverage stems from Ohtani's dual-threat capability, meaning any injury that prevents him from pitching alters the Dodgers' tactical approach to the game and their rotation depth as they move toward the postseason. Observers are now waiting to see if the Dodgers will officially shut down Ohtani's pitching duties for the remainder of the regular season. Future updates will likely center on whether the player receives medical clearance to return to the mound or if the organization opts for a conservative approach to ensure his availability for October baseball.
