## Intelligence Brief
Russian forces have resumed military strikes on Kyiv following a period of intense violence that has resulted in significant casualties. According to reporting from Українська правда, the overnight offensive involved the deployment of two Iskander missiles and a total of 130 drones targeted at Ukrainian territory. This escalation comes as the region deals with the aftermath of a specific strike on a care home, an event that has triggered widespread outrage. Coverage from The Independent and The Hill emphasizes the human cost of these recent operations, specifically focusing on the fatalities occurring at a care home facility. The Independent reports that 34 people died at the care home, a tragedy that has fueled intense public anger.

Further updates provided by The Hill indicate that the overall death toll from this specific operation has risen to 38 people. The Hill further characterizes this event as the deadliest attack conducted by Russia against Ukraine within the current year, highlighting the severity of the impact on civilian infrastructure and vulnerable populations. The context of these events centers on the strategic use of long-range weaponry, including Iskander missiles and mass drone swarms, to strike deep within Ukrainian cities. The targeting of a care home has become a focal point of the narrative, as reported by The Independent, framing the resumption of strikes on Kyiv against a backdrop of mourning and outrage. This pattern of strikes underscores the ongoing volatility of the conflict and the continued risk to non-combatant facilities.

The specific mention of the death toll rising to 38 illustrates the evolving nature of the casualty counts as recovery efforts continue. Future developments to monitor include the official response to the loss of life at the care home and the frequency of drone deployments. Based on the reports from Українська правда and The Hill, the focus remains on the volume of incoming missiles and drones and the resulting casualties. Observers will be tracking whether the death toll of 38 continues to climb and how the resumption of strikes on Kyiv impacts the broader operational environment. Coverage does not yet specify the immediate military objectives of the 130-drone wave, but the scale of the attack remains a primary point of reporting.
