## Executive Summary
Comparisons are emerging between the Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 following new gameplay leaks.

## Intelligence Brief
A technical comparison is trending following the appearance of video footage showcasing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 running on the Nintendo Switch 2 and the PlayStation 5. According to coverage from Nintendo Everything, the comparison specifically pits the performance of the upcoming Nintendo hardware against the established capabilities of the PS5. Additionally, IGN has reported on gameplay footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on the Switch 2, though it is noted that this specific footage was captured off-screen, which typically impacts the visual fidelity and clarity of the recording. The coverage across these outlets emphasizes the visual and performance gap between the two platforms. Nintendo Everything focuses on the direct video comparison, while IGN's reporting highlights the nature of the Switch 2 gameplay evidence as being off-screen.

Thurrott.com also referenced these developments within their "Ask Paul: August 28" segment, indicating that the discussion around this hardware comparison has permeated various technology and gaming news circles. The focus remains on how a Nintendo-branded console handles a high-fidelity title like Modern Warfare 4 compared to a high-end home console. This trend matters because it provides some of the first tangible glimpses into the capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2, a successor to the original Switch. The inclusion of a major franchise like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 suggests a potential shift in the type of third-party AAA titles Nintendo's next-generation hardware can support. By comparing it to the PlayStation 5, users and analysts are attempting to gauge where the Switch 2 sits in the current hardware hierarchy and whether it can maintain a competitive experience for demanding first-person shooters.

Future developments to watch involve further verification of the off-screen gameplay reported by IGN and whether more direct, high-quality comparisons emerge beyond the video mentioned by Nintendo Everything. Observers will be looking for official confirmation regarding the hardware specifications of the Nintendo Switch 2 and the formal announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's availability on the platform. The current discourse is driven by these leaked comparisons and the community's reaction to the performance differences between the two consoles.
