## Executive Summary
Ella Langley makes music history as 'Choosin' Texas' becomes the longest-leading non-holiday song in Billboard Hot 100 history.

## Intelligence Brief
Ella Langley has achieved a historic milestone on the music charts with her song 'Choosin' Texas.' According to reports from Billboard and The New York Times, the track has now spent 20 weeks at the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100. This achievement marks the song as the sole longest-leading non-holiday hit to ever occupy the top spot of the chart. The track is described by vox.com as a sad country song focused on the state of Texas. Extensive coverage of this record-breaking run has been provided by multiple major outlets.

Billboard and The New York Times both emphasize the specific 20-week duration at number one, while Forbes notes that Langley has tied one of the biggest country hits of all time with this performance. Additionally, K-Jewel 99.3 FM has provided reporting on the broader context of the longest-leading number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100, placing Langley's current success within the historical framework of the chart. The significance of this trend lies in the rarity of a non-holiday song maintaining the top position for such an extended period. Coverage from vox.com suggests that the popularity of the track is so substantial that it could potentially become the biggest hit ever.

By breaking this record, Langley has moved beyond standard chart success to establish a new benchmark for longevity in the modern music era, specifically within the country music genre as highlighted by Forbes. Future attention will likely focus on whether 'Choosin' Texas' can extend its stay at the top beyond the 20-week mark. Based on the reporting from vox.com, the industry is monitoring if the song will solidify its status as the biggest hit of all time. There is continued interest from outlets like K-Jewel 99.3 FM in how this record compares to previous historical leaders on the Hot 100, as the song continues its unprecedented run at the number one spot.
