> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-08-31 16:07 UTC · Category: Entertainment

## Executive Summary
Gal Gadot confirms her departure from the role of Wonder Woman, citing the handling of Henry Cavill's exit as a key factor in her decision.

## Intelligence Brief
Gal Gadot has officially confirmed her exit from the role of Wonder Woman within the DC Universe. According to reporting from TheWrap, the actress explicitly stated that the situation regarding Henry Cavill was not being handled elegantly, which influenced her parting ways with the franchise. This confirmation clarifies her status as the character's lead after a period of uncertainty. The Jerusalem Post reports that Gadot has stepped down from the role and has expressed her best wishes for the actress who will eventually be cast as the next Wonder Woman. Multiple entertainment outlets are covering the development, with ScreenRant providing an exclusive report that seals Gadot's return fate three years later.

Yahoo has also detailed Gadot's reflections on leaving the character and her specific weigh-in regarding the DC franchise parting ways with Henry Cavill. SlashFilm notes that Gadot's comments essentially confirm details that were previously suspected or known within the industry, bringing a definitive end to her tenure as the Amazonian warrior in the cinematic universe. The context of this exit is tied to the broader management of the DCU and the transition of its primary leads. The coverage emphasizes that the manner in which the studio handled the departure of Henry Cavill served as a catalyst for Gadot's own decision to leave. This suggests a pattern of friction between the talent and the studio's management of high-profile exits.

The timing of this confirmation comes three years after previous discussions regarding her future with the role began to circulate in the media. Moving forward, the focus shifts to the casting of a new lead for the character of Wonder Woman. While Gadot has offered her support to her successor, coverage does not yet specify who the next actress will be or when a replacement will be announced. Observers will be watching for further statements from DC regarding the reshuffling of their cinematic roster and how the studio intends to handle future transitions of its lead actors to avoid the lack of elegance described by Gadot.
