## Intelligence Brief
Ilari Kuittinen, a co-founder of the game development studio Housemarque, has announced his departure from the company. This exit marks the end of a professional tenure lasting 31 years. Kuittinen is stepping down from his role at the studio, which is associated with titles such as Returnal and Saros. Coverage of the departure has been reported by several gaming and technology outlets. TwistedVoxel and Gematsu both explicitly state that Kuittinen is retiring after his three-decade stint.

Beebom reports that he is stepping down from the studio, while Instant Gaming News notes his role as a co-founder and connects his work to the games Saros and Returnal. Additionally, IGN Pakistan describes the event as an announcement of his exit from the Saros developer, highlighting the significance of his long-term commitment to the studio. To understand the scale of this transition, it is necessary to note that Kuittinen has been with Housemarque for 31 years, a duration that spans the vast majority of the studio's operational history. As a co-founder, his influence is tied to the development of the studio's portfolio, including the high-profile project Returnal. The length of his tenure indicates that he was instrumental in the growth and evolution of the company from its early stages through its current standing in the industry.

Future developments will center on how Housemarque manages the leadership void left by a co-founder of Kuittinen's longevity. While the coverage confirms his exit, it does not specify who will assume his previous responsibilities or if a successor has been named. Observers will likely monitor the studio's upcoming projects, including further developments regarding Saros and other titles, to see how the studio evolves following the departure of a foundational member after 31 years of service.
