> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-08-31 19:07 UTC · Category: Sports

## Executive Summary
The Miami Dolphins have significantly expanded their roster by claiming seven players via the NFL waiver wire, including QB Brady Cook and TE Justin Joly.

## Intelligence Brief
The Miami Dolphins have officially made seven waiver claims to add new talent to their roster. Among the specific athletes acquired in this move are quarterback Brady Cook and tight end Justin Joly. These claims represent a coordinated effort by the Dolphins organization to secure multiple positions at once as they manage their current squad depth and player availability. Coverage of these roster moves has been provided by NBC Sports and ProFootballRumors.com. NBC Sports reported both that the Dolphins were awarded the seven players via waivers and specifically highlighted the additions of Brady Cook and Justin Joly.

Simultaneously, ProFootballRumors.com detailed the same sequence of events, confirming that the team made seven claims in total. The consistency across these sports news outlets underscores the scale of the Dolphins' recent activity on the waiver wire during this specific window of the NFL calendar. To understand why these moves matter, it is necessary to recognize the function of the waiver system in professional football, which allows teams to claim players who have been released by other organizations. The acquisition of a quarterback like Brady Cook and a tight end like Justin Joly indicates that the Dolphins are targeting specific depth or skill sets at those positions. By claiming seven different players, the team is making a broad push to evaluate new talent and potentially fill gaps in their depth chart before the season progresses further.

Moving forward, the focus remains on how these seven new additions will integrate into the Dolphins' system. While the coverage confirms that the players have been awarded to Miami, it does not specify the remaining five players' names or their respective positions. Observers will be watching to see if any of these waiver claims result in permanent roster spots or if the team will make subsequent cuts to accommodate the new arrivals. The team's next steps regarding the status of Brady Cook and Justin Joly will be a primary point of interest.
