## Executive Summary
WEEI broadcaster Will Flemming faces backlash after an on-air meltdown during a Red Sox loss to the New York Yankees on Sunday.

## Intelligence Brief
During a broadcast of a Sunday game between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, WEEI radio broadcaster Will Flemming engaged in an on-air meltdown. According to reporting from Yahoo Sports, Flemming's comments included a statement suggesting that the Red Sox should hit Yankees player Austin Wells. Furthermore, Flemming targeted Jazz Chisholm Jr., whom he characterized as a 'bush-league player' during the course of the broadcast. This series of remarks occurred as the Red Sox were suffering a loss to their rivals, the New York Yankees.

Coverage of the incident has been highlighted by Yahoo Sports and Bleacher Report, focusing on the nature of Flemming's outbursts and the subsequent reactions from the baseball community. Yahoo Sports specifically detailed the targeting of Austin Wells and Jazz Chisholm Jr. during the broadcast. Meanwhile, Bleacher Report emphasized the social media response to these comments, noting that the criticism of Flemming has extended to public platforms where figures associated with the opposing team have weighed in on the broadcaster's professional conduct. Context for the controversy involves the high-tension rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.

The situation escalated when members of the Yankees organization reacted to the comments on Instagram. Bleacher Report notes that Cam Schlittler and CC Sabathia specifically ripped the Red Sox broadcaster on the social media platform in response to the remarks directed at Jazz Chisholm Jr. The nature of these interactions underscores the friction caused by Flemming's descriptors and his suggestion regarding on-field retaliation. Future developments depend on whether further disciplinary actions or statements are issued by WEEI or the Red Sox organization regarding the broadcaster's conduct during the loss to the Yankees.
