## Executive Summary
Google has implemented a substantial price hike for the Google TV Streamer, raising the cost of the device by $50.

## Intelligence Brief
Google has officially increased the retail price of the Google TV Streamer. According to reports from AFTVnews, the device's price has moved from its previous point of $99.99 to a new price of $149.99. This adjustment represents a significant cost increase for consumers looking to purchase the hardware. The coverage of this price adjustment is widespread across several prominent technology outlets. Both 9to5Google and The Verge have explicitly reported that the Google TV Streamer now costs $50 more than it did previously.

Droid Life has characterized this move as a substantial price increase, while XDA highlights that the change constitutes a 50% price hike. These outlets are collectively tracking the shift in Google's pricing strategy for its streaming hardware. To understand the context of this trend, readers should note the specific financial jump from $99.99 to $149.99. This $50 increase is the central focus of the reporting. XDA provides additional context for current shoppers, noting that while the official price has risen, there are currently ways for consumers to pay less if they act quickly.

This suggests a transition period where previous pricing or discounts may still be available through certain channels despite the official hike. Future developments to monitor include whether other Google hardware products will see similar adjustments. While the current coverage focuses exclusively on the Google TV Streamer, the 50% increase reported by XDA indicates a significant change in value. Observers will likely look for further updates on availability or promotional offers that might mitigate the $149.99 price point for new users, as coverage does not yet specify the long-term reasoning behind the change.
