## Executive Summary
Apple is reportedly preparing to launch a foldable iPhone Ultra amidst price leaks and supply chain cost pressures under new leadership.

## Intelligence Brief
Apple is moving toward the release of its first foldable device, identified in coverage as the iPhone Ultra. According to reports from CNET, the launch of this foldable model may be only days away, coinciding with what Macworld describes as a huge launch scheduled for next week. This strategic pivot comes as Apple operates under a new CEO, a transition that Bloomberg.com notes is central to the company's bet on foldable technology. The rollout occurs alongside the anticipated iPhone 18 series, which includes the Pro and Pro Max models. Early indicators of the device's physical design have also surfaced via case manufacturers, as reported by AppleInsider. Media coverage is currently focused on the financial implications of these new devices.

GSMArena.com reports that Vodafone has leaked prices for the iPhone Ultra, the iPhone 18 Pro, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max. CNET further highlights an analyst prediction that the iPhone 18 Pro Max could start at $1,300. This pricing trend has drawn criticism from PhoneArena, which suggests that if the leaked iPhone Ultra pricing is accurate, Apple is repeating a significant mistake. The financial discourse is mirrored in the markets, with The Motley Fool reporting a decline in Apple stock this past Friday, while Yahoo Finance indicates that the foldable iPhone is encountering early trouble. Context for these developments is provided by TrendForce, which points to rising memory costs as a primary driver increasing the Bill of Materials for the iPhone 18 series. This phenomenon, referred to by CNET as RAMageddon, is contributing to the higher predicted retail prices.

TrendForce suggests that the intersection of AI integration and these pricing shifts will be the primary factors shaping consumer upgrade demand. Meanwhile, Creative Bloq reports that leaks regarding the iPhone 18 Pro suggest the inclusion of a specific feature that photographers have long requested, adding a professional utility angle to the hardware refresh. Future developments to monitor include the official announcement expected next week, which Macworld identifies as the start of a loaded September for the company. Observers will be looking for confirmation of the leaked Vodafone pricing and official specifications for the iPhone Ultra. The market's reaction to the new CEO's strategy regarding foldable hardware will remain a key point of interest, especially as the company navigates the increased costs of components. Coverage will likely center on whether the actual retail pricing aligns with analyst predictions or the leaks provided by Vodafone regarding the Ultra and Pro models.
