## Executive Summary
The Indianapolis Colts shuffle their practice squad by swapping running backs amid roster adjustments.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent coverage from multiple sports news outlets details a series of roster adjustments made by the Indianapolis Colts involving their practice squad and 53-man roster. The team executed personnel changes by signing running back Davon Booth and guard Reid Holskey to the practice squad, while simultaneously releasing running back Ulysses Bentley IV from the practice squad. Additional roster developments noted in the coverage include the signing of Anderson Castle to the practice squad. Sports journalists and team-focused publications have heavily emphasized the composition of the updated 53-man roster following recent tweaks and roster cutdowns.

Outlets such as Sports Illustrated point out that the 2026 practice squad features a blend of undrafted free agents and quality veterans leading the way. Colts Wire at USA Today published projections regarding the defensive depth chart following the mandatory cutdown period, while Yahoo Sports broke down the broader structure of the 53-man roster. Stampede Blue characterized the overall sequence as a shuffle of the practice squad with specific attention given to the running back position adjustments. These roster maneuvers occur during the critical window following league-wide roster cutdowns and the initial formation of practice squads for the football season.

NFL teams routinely evaluate available talent, undrafted free agents, and veteran depth to solidify their developmental squads and immediate backups. The coverage highlights how the Indianapolis front office continues to fine-tune player personnel across offensive positions, notably addressing depth at running back and the interior offensive line with additions like guard Reid Holskey. Coverage does not yet specify long-term player deployment strategies or potential future roster elevations for the newly signed practice squad members. Observers will need to monitor upcoming injury reports, weekly depth chart releases, and subsequent team announcements from the organization to see how these personnel pieces factor into the team's preparations as the season progresses.
