## Executive Summary
Evan Rachel Wood calls out the cast of 'Practical Magic' after being replaced in the sequel by Joey King.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent entertainment coverage indicates that actor Evan Rachel Wood has publicly addressed her exclusion from the upcoming sequel to the film Practical Magic. According to multiple reports, Wood stated that she was not asked back for the project and learned of her recasting when her replacement, Joey King, informed her directly. Outlets including BuzzFeed, The Independent, Entertainment Weekly, AOL.com, IMDb, Deadline, TheWrap, Yahoo, PennLive.com, and Yahoo News UK have documented the remarks, noting that Wood remarked that no one who worked on the original film spoke to her about the sequel. The reporting highlights several specific dimensions of the recasting controversy across the participating media organizations.

Coverage emphasizes that out of the entire ensemble from the original production and the new project, only Joey King reached out to Wood following the casting changes. At the same time, the coverage details how Joey King reacted publicly after a fan posted a comment asserting that King's casting had completely ruined Practical Magic 2. Publications such as Deadline and Entertainment Weekly point out that despite the abrupt notification regarding the role, Wood referred to King warmly as a sweetheart while shading the rest of the original cast for their silence. Context provided across the articles centers on the transition from the original film to the sequel, focusing on the character originally played by Wood as a child star and the subsequent decision to cast King in the follow-up.

While IMDb and other outlets explore the rationale behind replacing Wood with King for Practical Magic 2, the current coverage does not yet specify official statements from studio executives or other original cast members explaining the casting choice or the lack of direct communication with Wood prior to the public announcements. As the story develops across entertainment news platforms, audiences and industry observers are tracking further reactions from the public and the cast members involved. Coverage does not yet state whether additional members of the original Practical Magic ensemble will respond to Wood's comments or if studio representatives will issue clarifications regarding the casting process. Future updates will depend on whether further statements are released by the actors or production team tied to Practical Magic 2.
