# 'Spider-Noir' Canceled After One Season By Prime Video

> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-09-04 22:07 UTC · Category: Entertainment

## Executive Summary
Prime Video has canceled the Emmy-winning series 'Spider-Noir' starring Nicolas Cage after only one season.

## Intelligence Brief
Prime Video has officially canceled the television series 'Spider-Noir' after its first season. This decision came at a highly unusual time for the production, as the cancellation occurred just one day before the Creative Arts Emmys. Despite the loss of its renewal, the series managed to achieve significant critical recognition during its short tenure on the streaming platform. Extensive coverage from outlets including Variety, Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter, and Entertainment Weekly emphasizes the contrast between the show's cancellation and its awards success. According to reports from Yahoo and Gold Derby, 'Spider-Noir' entered the awards cycle with 11 Emmy nominations.

Other reporting from IGN, TheWrap, and TVLine confirmed the single-season run. The context of this trend is centered on the high-profile nature of the lead actor and the show's critical standing. Coverage from The Daily Beast and IMDb highlights that the series was an Emmy-nominated project led by an Oscar winner, making the decision by Amazon to squash the show particularly notable. To provide perspective on the actor's reaction, Deadline and Yahoo report that Nicolas Cage responded to the news by stating that, for him, a one-season run is perfect. Future developments will likely center on the aftermath of the series' four Emmy wins.

While the show is officially canceled, coverage from A.V. Club, Kotaku, and Gizmodo focused on the sudden end of the production. Observers will be monitoring if the critical acclaim and hardware won at the Emmys lead to any further statements from Marvel or Prime Video regarding the series' legacy or potential future, though current facts confirm the run ended after one season.
