## Executive Summary
Four people were wounded in a shooting near the Sacramento State stadium during the first home football game of the season over Labor Day weekend.

## Intelligence Brief
According to reports from KCRA and the Sacramento Bee, four individuals were wounded in a shooting incident. The gunfire occurred near a Sacramento State parking structure, coinciding with the university's first home football game of the season during the Labor Day weekend. ABC10 reported that the situation led to an immediate order for the football stadium to shelter in place as authorities responded to the report of shots fired in the vicinity of the campus. Coverage of the event evolved across several outlets, with early reports showing conflicting information regarding casualties. While an initial Sacramento Bee report stated that no injuries were reported when shots were first fired near the stadium, later updates from the Sacramento Bee, KCRA, and statehornet.com confirmed that four gunshot victims were found nearby.

SFGATE reported that a suspect has been detained following the gunfire on the Sacramento State campus. CBS News also provided coverage of the event, noting that multiple injured victims were located following the shooting in the city. This incident took place against the backdrop of a high-traffic college sports event during a holiday weekend. The proximity of the shooting to the Sacramento State stadium created an immediate security crisis, requiring the implementation of emergency protocols. Yahoo described the event as a mass shooting that rocked the California city.

The intersection of a public sporting event and violent crime underscores the volatility of the situation, particularly as the shelter-in-place order disrupted the activities of those attending the home football game. Future developments will likely focus on the legal status of the individual detained by authorities, as noted by SFGATE. While FOX40 confirmed that the shelter-in-place order at the football stadium has since been lifted, the investigation into the four victims found near the scene continues. Coverage does not yet specify the conditions of the wounded or the specific identity of the detained suspect. Observers will be monitoring updates from the Sacramento police regarding the motive and the exact sequence of events that led to the injuries at Granite Regional Park.
