## Executive Summary
Actor Gary Oldman and screenwriter Steven Knight have fueled speculation that a new James Bond has been officially cast for the 007 franchise.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent reports indicate that a new actor has been selected to play James Bond. Gary Oldman claimed during a television appearance that the role has already been filled, stating that they have picked the actor. This claim was further supported by reports from The Independent, which noted that a James Bond screenwriter has also stated that a new actor is officially cast. While Oldman asserted that a choice has been made, he simultaneously clarified that he does not personally know the identity of the chosen actor, though he noted that the public will find out soon. Various media outlets have highlighted the specifics of these claims. Variety and The Independent focused on Oldman's statements, with Variety specifically mentioning that Oldman hopes Jack Lowden will be the one to play 007.

Deadline reported on the reaction of screenwriter Steven Knight, who refused to deny that the casting has occurred, stating, I cannot speak about this subject. Other coverage from Yahoo and Page Six emphasized the claims coming from an A-list actor that the selection process is complete and a reveal is imminent. This development comes amid broader curiosity regarding the future of the 007 series. The BBC reported that fans are seeking answers to multiple questions about the franchise's direction. Adding to the casting rumors, Yahoo reported that Daniel Radcliffe is eyeing a key role in the next Bond movie and that his interest in joining the production is being taken seriously. This suggests a wider casting process for the upcoming film beyond just the lead role of James Bond.

Observers are now waiting for an official confirmation regarding the identity of the new 007. The current focus remains on the claims made by Gary Oldman and the strategic silence of Steven Knight. While Jack Lowden has been publicly backed by Oldman, the coverage does not specify if Lowden is the actual choice. Future updates are expected as the industry awaits a formal announcement from the franchise holders to resolve the questions raised by the BBC and other outlets.
