## Executive Summary
Apple is expected to reveal its first foldable smartphone, reportedly named the iPhone Duo, during an annual launch event led by the company's new CEO.

## Intelligence Brief
Apple is preparing for its annual launch event, where the company's new CEO is scheduled to unveil the latest iPhone lineup. According to reports from WIRED and Yahoo Finance, the centerpiece of this event is the anticipated debut of a folding iPhone. While there has been speculation regarding various models, a report highlighted by PCMag suggests that the first foldable device will be named the iPhone Duo, rather than an iPhone Ultra. In addition to the new smartphone hardware, Yahoo Finance indicates that new Apple watches are also expected to be part of the product announcements. Coverage of the event is widespread, with live updates being provided by WIRED and Yahoo Finance.

The Boston Globe and NBC News are focusing on the leadership aspect of the presentation, specifically noting that the new Apple CEO will be the one to introduce the latest lineup. Meanwhile, Bloomberg.com is analyzing the strategic implications of the release, framing the introduction of a foldable device as a test of Apple's established 'best-not-first' business strategy. This suggests a focus on refining existing technology before entering a market already occupied by competitors. The timing of this launch is significant as it marks a transition in leadership for the company. The emergence of the iPhone Duo would represent a fundamental shift in the iPhone's hardware design, moving away from the traditional slab form factor.

The coverage emphasizes that this move follows a pattern where Apple avoids being the first to market with a new category of device, instead opting to launch a more polished version of the technology once the market has been primed by other manufacturers. Observers are now monitoring the live updates from the Apple event to confirm the final specifications and naming of the folding device. Future attention will be directed toward whether the iPhone Duo officially replaces the rumored Ultra model and what new features will be integrated into the expected Apple watch updates. As the new CEO takes the stage, the industry is watching to see if this launch successfully validates the strategy of delayed entry into the foldable smartphone market.
