## Executive Summary
As the 2026 NFL season gets underway, attention centers on the New York Giants and the start of the John Harbaugh era.

## Intelligence Brief
Current reporting from multiple sports outlets examines the state of the New York Giants as the team prepares for the 2026 NFL season. Coverage focuses heavily on the arrival of John Harbaugh as head coach, marking the beginning of a new regime for the franchise. Outlets including Yahoo Sports, Big Blue View, the Trentonian, SNY, Giants.com, and the New York Post have published previews, power rankings, and analytical breakdowns addressing the upcoming campaign and the immediate outlook for Year 1 under the newly installed leadership. Specific reports detail internal observations from the team's first summer under Harbaugh, alongside external assessments from analysts like Brian Baldinger, who suggests the roster could make a notable leap this year.

At the same time, national power rankings for Week 1 indicate that broader voters remain skeptical, showing the franchise has not yet fully convinced observers of an immediate turnaround. SNY and Giants.com have outlined distinct storylines and final pre-season thoughts for followers to track as the opening kickoff approaches. This early-season scrutiny arrives directly on the heels of Harbaugh taking charge of the team, establishing an intense coaching culture described in local reporting where he directs attention to every single moment. The juxtaposition between internal enthusiasm regarding the coaching staff's daily approach and cautious national power rankings frames the baseline narrative for the team's competitive standing heading into the autumn schedule.

Moving forward, coverage points readers toward key storylines and initial games to evaluate whether the preseason optimism materializes on the field. Because the season is just beginning, ongoing reporting will monitor how the team performs in early matchups and whether the initial skepticism from power ranking voters shifts as the 2026 schedule unfolds.
