## Executive Summary
The New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies have finalized a four-player trade involving former first-round picks ahead of the 2026 NBA season.

## Intelligence Brief
The New Orleans Pelicans and the Memphis Grizzlies have reached an agreement on a four-player trade conducted prior to the start of the 2026 season. According to reporting from The New York Times, the Pelicans have agreed to trade Jordan Hawkins and Micah Peavy to the Grizzlies. This movement is part of a larger transaction involving four players in total, a detail confirmed by coverage from ESPN and Hoops Rumors. The deal specifically involves the swapping of players who were previously selected as first-round NBA Draft picks, as highlighted in reports from Bleacher Report. Major sports news outlets are closely monitoring the specifics of this transaction. ESPN and Hoops Rumors have both emphasized the four-player nature of the agreement, while The New York Times provided the specific names of the players moving from New Orleans to Memphis, namely Jordan Hawkins and Micah Peavy.

Bleacher Report focused on the status of the players involved, noting their history as former first-round draft selections. Together, these sources establish that the trade is a coordinated effort between the two franchises to reshape their rosters before the upcoming season begins. Contextual details regarding the financial and contractual mechanics of the trade have surfaced in the coverage. Yahoo Sports reports that AJ Johnson's contract is now capable of being aggregated, which serves as a key factor in the logistics of the deal. The ability to aggregate contracts is a critical component of NBA trade rules, allowing teams to combine multiple salaries to match the incoming value of players from another team. This contractual flexibility likely facilitated the movement of the four players involved in the exchange between the Pelicans and the Grizzlies.

Looking forward, the primary point of interest remains the full composition of the four-player deal. While The New York Times and ESPN have identified Jordan Hawkins and Micah Peavy as players heading to Memphis, the coverage does not yet specify which players the Pelicans are receiving in return. Observers will be watching for official confirmation from both franchises to determine the final roster adjustments. The integration of these former first-round picks into the Grizzlies' rotation will be a focal point as the 2026 season approaches.
