## Executive Summary
Russian missile and drone strikes hit Kyiv, killing two and ending a temporary pause following visits by US envoys.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent reporting from outlets including The Hill and CBS News establishes that Russian drone and missile strikes have hit the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, resulting in the deaths of two people. Coverage indicates that this bombardment brought an end to a brief pause in attacks on the city. The Hill emphasizes that the renewed strikes on the Ukrainian capital directly killed two individuals, while CBS News places the renewed violence into the context of recent diplomatic activity.

Specifically, CBS News reports that the strikes resumed immediately following meetings conducted by US envoys Witkoff and Kushner, who held peace talks with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Prior to these strikes, the coverage notes the occurrence of high-level peace talks involving the US envoys and the leaders of both nations. The timing of the renewed military action directly coincides with the conclusion of these diplomatic visits, marking a sharp pivot back to kinetic conflict after the observed pause in attacks on Kyiv.

As coverage does not yet specify future military timelines or diplomatic responses, observers must monitor subsequent reporting to see how the diplomatic track involving the US envoys proceeds. Further updates from outlets like The Hill and CBS News will determine the impact of these strikes on any ongoing peace negotiations between the involved parties.
