## Executive Summary
Russian drone and missile strikes hit Kyiv, killing two people and ending a pause during US envoy visits.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent reporting from the Associated Press and NBC News documents that Russia has launched a new wave of drone and missile strikes directed at the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv. Coverage indicates that these military actions resulted in the deaths of two individuals. Furthermore, the reports establish that this latest bombardment brings an immediate halt to a preceding pause in attacks. According to the available sources, that previous suspension in strikes coincided with visits by American envoys and diplomatic talks involving the United States. The coverage from both the Associated Press and NBC News emphasizes the immediate human cost of the renewed offensive, highlighting the fatalities resulting from the drone and missile strikes.

The outlets explicitly connect the timing of the renewed bombardment to the conclusion of a temporary cessation in hostilities. While the articles document the end of the pause, coverage does not yet specify the exact identities of the victims or the precise locations within the capital where the impacts occurred. Context provided within the reporting highlights the diplomatic dimensions surrounding the attacks, specifically referencing the presence of American envoys and ongoing U.S. talks. The temporary halt in military actions against the Ukrainian capital had previously created a distinct operational window during these high-level diplomatic engagements. The sudden resumption of missile and drone activity directly alters the security landscape of Kyiv as international diplomatic efforts unfold, bringing renewed urgency to the situation on the ground.

Future developments will depend on how international actors and diplomatic missions respond to the resumption of hostilities following the conclusion of the pause. Coverage does not yet specify whether further diplomatic missions will continue or how security protocols for foreign envoys in Kyiv will be adjusted. Observers and news consumers will need to monitor ongoing reports from outlets like the Associated Press and NBC News to track any subsequent military escalations or official diplomatic statements regarding the strikes.
