## Executive Summary
Nintendo and LEGO have unveiled a new Link and Epona set as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations for The Legend of Zelda franchise.

## Intelligence Brief
LEGO has officially announced the release of a new building set based on The Legend of Zelda, which depicts the protagonist Link riding his horse, Epona. This specific release marks the third Legend of Zelda set to be produced by the company. According to reports from Nintendo Everything, the set includes additional interactive features, specifically a playable Ocarina. Coverage of the announcement has been widespread across gaming and technology outlets. Both The Verge and Video Games Chronicle have confirmed that the set features Link and Epona, with Video Games Chronicle explicitly identifying this as the third entry in the Zelda LEGO series.

IGN has emphasized the connection between this product launch and the milestone 40th anniversary of the game series. The focus of the reporting across these outlets remains on the specific character pairings and the novelty of the interactive elements included in the kit. Beyond the LEGO collaboration, other merchandise tied to the intellectual property is emerging. Gamereactor UK reports that Panini has announced a Legend of Zelda Trading Card collection. This indicates a broader push for physical collectibles associated with the brand.

The timing of these releases suggests a coordinated effort to provide a variety of anniversary products, ranging from construction toys with playable components to collectible card games, targeting different segments of the fan base during the anniversary window. Future developments will likely center on the availability and distribution of these items. While the LEGO set and the Panini trading cards have been announced, coverage does not yet specify the exact release dates or pricing for these products. Observers should monitor further updates from Nintendo and its partners regarding where these anniversary items can be purchased and whether additional sets or collectibles will be revealed as part of the ongoing 40th anniversary commemorations.
