## Executive Summary
The Yemeni government has officially announced a strategic decision to launch a counter-offensive to retake the capital city of Sanaa from Houthi control.

## Intelligence Brief
Yemeni government forces have announced a formal decision to initiate a military counter-offensive aimed at reclaiming the capital city, Sanaa. This move is intended to remove the city from Houthi control and restore government authority over the urban center. This development has been highlighted across several international news outlets, including UA.NEWS, RTV News, and The Edge Malaysia. All three sources report the same core announcement: that the Yemeni government has reached a definitive conclusion regarding the necessity of retaking Sanaa.

The coverage emphasizes the official nature of the statement, with The Edge Malaysia specifically noting that the government has declared the 'decision has been made' to reclaim the city, signaling a commitment to the operation. To understand the current stakes, it is necessary to note that Sanaa is the capital of Yemen and has been under Houthi control, necessitating this planned government intervention. The reclaim effort represents an attempt to shift the balance of power within the country by targeting the primary seat of administrative and political influence. The focus on the capital indicates that the government views the liberation of Sanaa as a critical objective in its broader struggle against Houthi forces.

Observers are now monitoring the next steps of the Yemeni government as it moves to implement this decision. While the decision to retake the capital has been made public, coverage does not yet specify the exact timeline for the start of military operations, the size of the forces involved, or the specific tactical approach to be used. Future reports will likely focus on whether the government begins the physical mobilization of troops toward Sanaa and how Houthi forces respond to the official vow to reclaim the city.
