ABC denies 'inaccurate' report 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' will end in 2027

ABC is currently pushing back against reports claiming that 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' is coming to an end. This denial follows a period of intense speculation and a bombshell report that cast doubt on the future of the program. While initial reports suggested the show was set to end, the network has moved to clarify the status of the broadcast. Jimmy Kimmel has since returned to his late-night duties, where he has focused on topical humor regarding Donald Trump. The coverage of this dispute is widespread across entertainment and news outlets.

KTLA, TheWrap, and Entertainment Weekly all report that ABC called the ending report inaccurate, with Entertainment Weekly specifically noting the rumor claimed the show would end after next season. News have also detailed the network's response, with E! News highlighting that the show has been on the air for 24 years. Other outlets, including the New York Daily News, the Independent, theHill.com, and HuffPost, have tracked the sequence of the rumored cancellation and the subsequent network pushback. Contextual tension surrounding the show's status was amplified by public reactions to the rumors.

Yahoo and Us Weekly reported that Spencer Pratt celebrated the rumored ending of the show, with Pratt stating, 'My Laughing Heart!' The timing of these reports coincides with Kimmel's return to the air, during which Mashable and People.com noted that he utilized a montage of statements made by Donald Trump to recap the summer. This juxtaposition of professional returns and cancellation rumors has kept the program at the center of entertainment news cycles. Observers are now monitoring the official status of the show as it continues its run. Future updates will likely depend on whether ABC provides further contractual details or if additional reports emerge to challenge the network's current stance. For now, the focus remains on Kimmel's content and the network's firm denial of the reported cancellation.
