## Executive Summary
New York City landmark Carnegie Deli is returning to Midtown Manhattan, reopening in the former location of its longtime competitor, Stage Deli.

## Intelligence Brief
The iconic Carnegie Deli is preparing to reopen its doors in Midtown Manhattan after a ten-year absence from the neighborhood. According to reporting from ABC7 New York and 6sqft, this return marks a significant comeback for the establishment. The reopening is scheduled for September 15th, a date highlighted by Showbiz411. This return to the Midtown area allows the deli to resume operations in a high-traffic district of the city, though coverage does not specify the exact street address of the new storefront. Multiple news outlets are tracking the development, with The New York Times emphasizing a specific irony regarding the venue's location.

The New York Times reports that Carnegie Deli will be reopening specifically where Stage Deli once operated, framing the move as a case of eating a rival. This narrative is supplemented by PIX11, which advises potential customers to arrive with empty stomachs in anticipation of the reopening. Showbiz411 further details that the menu will include a "Broadway Danny Rose" sandwich along with other classic favorites that were previously associated with the deli's showbiz identity. To understand the context of this event, it is necessary to note that Carnegie Deli had been gone from Midtown for a decade. The deli's identity is deeply tied to the entertainment industry, as evidenced by the mention of showbiz favorites in its menu offerings.

The rivalry between Carnegie Deli and Stage Deli is a focal point of the current coverage, as the decision to occupy the former site of a competitor adds a layer of industry tension to the business's return to the Manhattan food scene. Looking forward, the primary event to watch is the official opening on September 15th. While the menu has been partially revealed through the mention of the Broadway Danny Rose sandwich, coverage does not yet specify if other original menu items will return or if new additions will be introduced. The public response to the deli's placement in the former Stage Deli location will likely be a point of continued interest for local media as the business attempts to regain its footing after ten years away.
